1. What do I need to pay attention to in using BOC Online Banking (Personal service)?

  • For the sake of your account safety, please do not login online banking service through embedded links in any e-mails. Only enter your personal password on our site to choose ' the individual service of online bank ' in http://www.bocmacau.com.
  • For the sake of privacy, please do not disclose your User Name and your personal password. It is also recommended to change your password from time to time for security reasons.
  • Please do not leave your computer alone when using.
  • Upon completion of your transactions, please remember to logout BOC Online Banking (Personal services) before browsing for other websites.

2. How do I register for BOC Online Banking (Personal services)?

  • Only the e-Banking account holders of Bank of China Limited Macau Branch can register for the BOC Online Banking (Personal services).
  • You are welcome to visit any one of our bank for the simple application procedure during our office hours.

3. What is the service charge for BOC Online Banking (Personal services)?

BOC Online Banking (Personal services) is a free service. For some of the transactions, there may be a service charge or commission fee. For more information about this issue, please inquire from our bank. Also, you need to pay for your surfing charge to your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

4. What is the recommended equipment in using BOC Online Banking (Personal services)?

  • In order to use the BOC Online Banking (Personal services), all you need are: A personal computer with a modem, Internet connection offered by your ISP, Browser.
  • For achieving a better viewing quality, it is recommended to view at 1024 x 768 screen resolution and 32-bit colors with Internet Explorer 8.0.

5. Can I use BOC Online Banking (Personal services) when I am overseas?

Yes, you can. What you need is simply go to our website of www.bocmacau.com with your Internet connection, click "BOC Online Banking (Personal services)" entrance. Then, you will be able to handle your financial matters all over the world.

6. What are the limits for fund transfer on a daily basis through BOC Online Banking (Personal services)?

  • Transfer to your own accounts, each transaction limit is HKD 8,000,000.00 or its equivalent if it is involved in foreign exchange.
  • If it is converted into Macau Pataca, every user can exchange a total amount of HKD8,000,000.00 on every business day. The total amount of HKD8,000,000.00 is for all Macau Pataca conversion transactions through e-Banking Services (including BOC Online Banking (Personal services), Mobile Banking or Service Hotline).
  • If the fund transfer is concerning about any registered third party account through e-Banking Services (including Service Hotline,Mobile Banking or BOC Online Banking (Personal services)), the daily transaction limit is HKD 1,000,000.00 or its equivalent for each registered third party account.
  • If the fund transfer is concerning about any non-registered third party account through BOC Online Banking (Personal services), the daily transaction limit is HKD 1,000,000.00 or its equivalent for total of all this type transactions including instantly non-registered third party transfer and pre-set non-registered third party transfer that executed at this day.

7. Is there any time limitation for using BOC Online Banking (Personal services)?

There is no time limitation for using BOC Online Banking (Personal services). For security reason, if you stay on a screen inactively for more than 10 minutes, your BOC Online Banking (Personal services) connection will be suspended and a screen will come up with this message: "Login or Connect has failed, please login again. Thank you for using BOC Online Banking (Personal services)". When this happens, you are required to re-enter your User Name and password to re-login in order to continue using our Services.

8. How do I confirm the transaction being accepted on BOC Online Banking (Personal services)?

Under the normal circumstances, upon the completion of all online financial transaction, the bank will issue a transaction number to confirm the result of the transaction. During the process, should your computer go down or the Internet connection be disconnected, you can check the transaction status at the latest transaction information of Enquiry Transaction Records, or simply call our Service Hotline at (853)888 95566.

9. What can I do when I have forgotten my personal password?

In order to log in BOC Online Banking (Personal services), you will prompt for your login password. If you have forgotten your password, please visit any one of our bank at our office hours for the re-issue of the password.

10. What will be happened if I have entered the incorrect personal password for several times?

If you have entered the incorrect personal password for 10 times consecutively (each day have 5 times to attempt, totally 2 days), your BOC Online Banking (Personal services) will be suspended for the security reason. Should the above happen, please visit any one of our bank at our office hours for resuming your BOC Online Banking (Personal services).

11. Is BOC Online Banking (Personal services) security enough for making transactions?

BOC Online Banking (Personal services) offers different kinds of security measures to safeguard your transaction information:

  • Two-factor authentication or Double Password Protection

1. When you apply for the e-Banking services also apply two-factor authentication with indicating the need to use two-factor authentication login to online banking services. Then you are when you login using the Online Banking user name and password in addition, you also need to enter an OTP Passcode that the "e-Token" / "SMS" generated, so that your financial information can lead to greater protection. Some online services, such as registration accounts, real-time transfer to a third party, which also requires you to enter the OTP Passcode to confirm, this will provide you with better protection.

2. Even if you did not apply for the use of two-factor authentication, you must enter a correct personal password matched with your User Name when you login BOC Online Banking (Personal services) every time. 12. How can I ensure the validity of web page in the BOC Online Banking (Personal services)?

14. Is there any limit for Bill Payment service through BOC Online Banking (Personal services)?

1. Some entities have the limit of each payment transaction: 10 – 150,000.

2. For BOC Credit cards, the upper limit for HKD/MOP credit card payments through e-Banking Service account (including payment instruction through Service Hotline, Mobile Banking or BOC Online Banking (Personal services)) is HKD/MOP 500,000 per day. the upper limit for RMB credit card payments through e-Banking Service account (including payment instruction through Service Hotline, Mobile Banking or BOC Online Banking (Personal services)) is RMB 500,000 per day.

3. For BOC Multi-currency Credit Cards, there is no upper limit for paying credit card payment.

15. How to deal the Online Remittance Services?

1. If you had applied two-factor authentication, you can directly do the remittance transaction for using free input beneficiary.

2. You can use two-factor authentication to register beneficiary or come to our bank to register the beneficiary's information if you are the customer of our e-Banking Service. After you had finished the registration, you may remit through our e-Banking Services (including BOC Online Banking (Personal services).

16. Is the Online Remittance safe?

  • Our Online Remittance is absolutely safe because of:
  • Beside on using two-factor authentication to register beneficiary, every beneficiary's information should be registered by customer to avoid any delivery mistake.
    There is an amount limit to the remittance, every customer could not remit over HKD2,000,000.00 or its equivalent every day. (Customer has the right to change the limit.) In addition, customer may set the limit of every beneficiary and we choose the lower limit.
  • A Transaction Password should be provided to every remittance.

17. How can I apply for the RMB deposit service?

You are welcome to apply for RMB deposit services at our bank. If you got the multi-currency deposit account already, it is not necessary to open an extra account. In addition, you may also exchange the RMB by foreign currency transfer through e-Banking Services.

18. I was a multi-currencies saving account holder, why the RMB deposit transaction was rejected?

According to the rules of The People's Bank of China Limited only the Macau citizen could apply for the RMB services. In addition, only one saving account (including the joint name account) is allowed for RMB deposit service.

19. How can I apply for the RMB fixed deposit account?

You can manage your RMB fixed deposit by opening a multi currencies fixed deposit account. However, you must withdrawal from the multi currencies saving account, the principal and interest will be deposited into the same account with the original currency.

20. Is there any restriction on RMB transaction amount for individual customers?

The restrictions on the transaction amount of RMB service via BOCNET(Personal) for individual customers are as follows:

1. To deposit /withdraw RMB with conversion: maximum RMB20,000/person/day.

2. To remit RMB funds to the Mainland: The remitter and the beneficiary must the same person and maximum RMB50,000/person/day.
